An evening with the Melbourne International Jazz Festival

As a Major Event Partner of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, we are thrilled to present two evenings of Afternoon Tea and live jazz in October.

This year, we are delighted to host two local jazz trios over Afternoon Tea, with tickets to two of the festival's headline performances - Rhapsody in Blue at 100: a Celebration of Orchestral Jazz feat. Grammy-nominated Japanese pianist, Makoto Ozone and esperanza spalding.

Bassist, vocalist, composer and five-time GRAMMY winner esperanza spalding stands out as one of the truly great artists of our time, marrying genres from jazz to rock, soul to opera and more.

A magnetic live performer, she has shared the stage with greats including Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and Prince, and graced the world's great festivals, concert halls and jazz clubs. Named "the 21st century's jazz genius" (NPR), her transformative performance is the closing act for the 2024 MIJF.

This evening features Spalding's trio of musicians alongside contemporary dancers, for an intimate performance of bass (Spalding's instrument of choice) and masterful vocals.
