    This position is ideal for an experienced Front Office Manager, Assistant Front Office Manager ready to take the next step in their career and has an exceptional level of customer service attitude.

    In this role you will report to the Chief Executive Officer. Your responsibilities include: managing the Front Office function, leading and developing a team of 15 Front Office Team Members, hands-on tasks, providing friendly and personalised customer service, promoting the business to achieve accommodation sales, processing reservations, assisting corporate and leisure guests. The role is also responsible for Front Office recruitment, appraisals and all areas of employee engagement and employee management activities.

    You will be able to demonstrate superior team building skills, a passion for customer service, excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills and a high standard of personal presentation.

    Previous experience in a hotel front office environment is essential as well as experience with staff supervision and management. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in a similar position in a 5 start hotel and a real passion for delivering position outcomes.

    The Hotel Windsor is an iconic Australian hotel embodying the architecture and elegance of a European style 'Grand Hotel', situated on Spring Street and located at the 'Paris' end of Melbourne. Our beautiful hotel is looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team.

    You will be involved in all matters affecting guest service and hotel operations to ensure guests receive prompt attention and personal recognition throughout the hotel. In the absence of the Front Office Manager and General Manager you will be fully responsible for the hotel. You will play a key role in the delivery of our iconic hotel brand experience and will respond to guest needs and issues intuitively or as they arise in a professional manner. You will also supervise, direct and support the Reception team with their daily activities, knowledge, development. 

    Ideally, you will have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in a hotel Front Office operation of a five star hotel, with exposure to both front desk and reservations procedures. During this time you will have operated as a Front Office Supervisor, Assistant Manager or Duty Manager.

    You will have excellent customer relations, problem solving and time management skills, whilst having a working knowledge of a hotel property management system such as Opera. You will also have the flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, overnights, weekends and public holidays.

    The ideal candidates will be energetic, friendly, organised, enjoy working in a team environment and be passionate for food and what they produce. The ideal candidate

    would have experience in a Banquet kitchen and have an understanding of the HACCP and Food Safety. Prior five start hotel experience would be advantageous but not essential. You will be flexible with your roster and be able to work on, days, evenings, public holidays and weekends.

    Reporting to the Banquets Manager, you will assist the daily operation of the Banquets department, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction and profit contribution. You will provide ongoing team member training and continual departmental improvement, take ownership of and offer problem solving initiatives ensuring both the Guest's and Hotel interests are met and resolved with a positive outcome.

    Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 1-2 years experience in the Food & Beverage/Banquets function, have excellent communication skills, the ability to work a rotating roster including, late evenings, weekends and public holidays. You will also have flair and enthusiasm to learn new things. You will also be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and computer trouble-shooting skills. Previous experience with Micros would be an advantage.
