    The Hotel Windsor is an iconic Australian hotel embodying the architecture and elegance of a European style 'Grand Hotel', situated on Spring Street and located at the 'Paris' end of Melbourne. Our beautiful hotel is looking for a Sous Chef to join our Banquets team.

    As part of the Kitchen Team, you will be responsible for producing a high quality Banquet meals selection for all our hotel guests to enjoy. You will champion personalized guest experiences for special occasions and functions, maintain compliance with health and hygiene regulations and ensure guidelines are followed for timely and five star level service.

    The ideal candidates will be energetic, friendly, organised, enjoy working in a team environment and be passionate for food and what they produce. The ideal candidate

    would have experience in a Banquet kitchen and have an understanding of the HACCP and Food Safety. Prior five start hotel experience would be advantageous but not essential. You will be flexible with your roster and be able to work on, days, evenings, public holidays and weekends.

    Ideally you will have a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a hotel environment and a real passion for delivering position outcomes.

    This position is ideal for an experienced Food and Beverage professional who wants to join the team of our Banquets/Functions department in five star hotel environment. 

    In this role you will report to the Banquets Supervisor and Banquets Manager and work with the team in a supportive environment and professional manner, focusing on the overall success of the functions/banquets held at the hotel and the overall satisfaction of our hotel guests. Assisting with setting up function, Food and Beverage service and packing down functions, greeting of our guests and responding efficiently to all guest enquiries.  

    You will be able to demonstrate superior team playing skills, a passion for customer service, excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills, and a high standard of personal presentation.

    Previous experience in a 4/5 star restaurant environment is essential as well as, coffee making skills, current VIC RSA, ability to work on a rotational roster. Ideally, you will have a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.

    As part of the Kitchen Team, you will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitising of all surfaces, The washing of crockery, cutlery, kitchen utensils and heavy kitchen equipment, rubbish removal and keeping floors and areas free of obstruction and hazards. You will be responsible for the operation of commercial dishwashers, while maintaining compliance with health and hygiene regulations and ensure guidelines are followed for timely and five star level service.

    The ideal candidates will be energetic, friendly, organised, enjoy working in a team environment and be passionate for maintaining a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate would have cleaning experience, an understanding of Food Safety. You will be flexible with your roster and be able to work on, weekdays, evenings, public holidays and weekends.

    Ideally you will have a minimum of 1 year experience in a restaurant or hotel environment.
